WOW!! RAT is off to a flying start in 2016 with:
- $137,000.00 of new money from CPW for construction of an additional 7.5 miles of hand-crafted single track.
- A brand new trail – Splinter – opened on May 13, 2016 (click “The Trails” link above for a map).
- Grand Opening/Ribbon-Cutting with the Colorado State BLM Director and other dignitaries on June 4, 2016
- Ridgway Fat Tire Festival at Town Park and other venues in and near Ridgway on June 11, 2016
The Grand Opening will include construction of a short segment of new trail, a group fun ride led by RAT volunteers and free lunch courtesy of the BLM. Action starts at 9:00AM at the County Road 10 Trailhead north of Ridgway.
The Fat Tire Festival will include rockin’, live music with Zolopht, from Grand Junction, Hog Rock Barbecue by Scotty Kenton from Montrose, tasty microbrews from 6 different Colorado craft brewers, including Ridgway’s own, award-winning Colorado Boy, a poker run for fun on the RAT trails, an Alley Crit around and near Town Park, live and silent auctions, bike toss, good times and – no doubt – sunny skies. Fun starts at 11:00am with a poker run from the County Road 10 Trailhead, and continues at 3:30 with the Alley Crit, music, food, etc…. in Town Park, Ridgway.
