JUNE 7TH VOLUNTEER TRAIL DAY – WEAVER PARK MAINTENANCE

 

  • When: 9:00 A.M. on June 7th.
  • Where: At the trail head in Weaver Park.
  • What: Maintenance and improvements to existing trails within Weaver Park and the Riversage Subdivision. General refurb of winter and spring erosion.
  • Details: Gather at the trail head for a short safety meeting, then split into small crews. Crews will either walk in from the trail head or shuttle up Riversage Drive to more remote work areas. COPMOBA/RAT will provide all tools, water at the trail head, crew leaders, RAT Volunteer T-Shirt and post-effort food and refreshments for all volunteers. Participants should wear sturdy shoes (no sandals, please), good work gloves, long pants and a sun hat. Bring a rain coat, sunscreen, a water bottle and a light daypack to carry personal gear. All participants must sign liability waivers. Any minors will need a responsible adult to sign a liability waiver. Please do not bring dogs. Dogs are not allowed off leash in Weaver Park or in Riversage Subdivision.
  • Directions: From the North, take U.S. 550 South from Montrose approximately 25.4 miles to Riversage Drive (located .2 miles south of County road 24 and less than .1 miles south of County Rd. 10); turn right and descend Riverside Drive, cross the Uncompahgre River and stop at the Eagle in Weaver Park. From the South, take U.S. 550 North from the stoplight in Ridgway approximately 1.9 miles to Riversage Drive; turn left and descend Riverside Drive, cross the Uncompahgre River and stop at the Eagle in Weaver Park.
